Smartphone gold: Tokyo to tap recycled gadgets for Olympic medals

While the worldwide afterglow of this year’s Rio Olympics continues, officials in Japan, home to the 2020 games, unveiled an ambitious plan. They will harvest gold, silver and copper from castoff smartphones and consumer electronics for competitors' medals.
